BLUE DANCES

EXPOSITION / PERFORMANCE

Variations around blue, a color shared by the sea and the sky, with very ancient spiritual symbolism. The writing marries the graphic reliefs, evoking mystical dances according to curves and spirals. Alexia Traore explores in this series the spiritual dances of the whirling dervishes and the depth of Sufi thought. The wisdoms of Ibn’Arabî, of Djalâl od Dîn Rûmî, of Saâdi, of the Bhagavad-Gitâ, inspired the forms transcribed in this visual poetry, as much as the thought of more contemporary authors like Khaled Roumo, Fabienne Verdier, Sheikh Khaled Bentounes and Sheikh Abd El Hafid Benchouk. Like most of Alexia Traore’s work, BLUE DANCES supports are made from recycled materials, collected from the streets of the 18th arrondissement, in Paris.

Works of the series BLUE DANCES will be exhibited at Studio YogArt, Bergerac, from June 19 to August 31, 2021 more info
